Supreme War Council of the Roman Republic

Agenda: Victory in the Civil War

Freeze Date: 10 January, 49 BC

Against: Caesar's War Cabinet

Salvete Delegates,

Supreme War Council will divulge into a critical aspect of the Roman History, Id Est the Roman Civil war, and the Last war of the Republic. Fought across 3 continents and with the largest armies ever assembled in the Ancient World, The Committee will be directing and assisting the actions of Gaius Pompey Magnus, a Prominent Roman General, and Politician. With a freeze date of 10 January 49 BCE, the delegates will be ushered into an Era with open conflict and strong Political subversion. It will be composed of Pompey the Great’s Political Allies, Legion Commanders, and other pivotal Portfolios.

The Committee starts when the Point of No Return has been Reached. Pompey being a notable statesman of the Roman Republic, was from a humble background and a brilliant general who even raised three legions of his own to vanquish the marines. He had an astonishing record of usurping 900 cities, 1000 strongholds, and 800 pirate ships. He was also elected as consul thrice and became an enemy of Julius Ceaser and a model morality for the Republic.

On January 10, 49 BC, commanding the Legion XIII, Caesar crossed the Rubicon River Quoting a famous Greek Play, Alae Iacta Est (The die is cast), the boundary between the province of Cisalpine Gaul to the north and Italy proper to the south. As crossing the Rubicon with an army was prohibited, lest a returning general attempt a coup d’état, that triggered the ensuing civil war between Caesar and Pompey.

Through Various actions ranging from Strategic offensives to Political Assassinations, the delegates will utilize all resources of the Optimates faction, to emerge victorious in this Conflict. At Stake is not only the Future of Rome but Europe itself.

The Glory awaits us!
May the Republic wield the scepter forever!
